Promotion of alternative income activities in the sub-county of Lokopo for 110 returnees and vulnerable families (agriculture) and 50 young girls (aviculture)

Objective: To improve the living conditions of young boys and girls in the sub-county of Lokopo in a post-emergency phase

Results:

poultry

• Completed the structure of the hen house at Lokopo and purchased and bred 1500 chicks;

• completed a vaccination program against Newcastle and Gumboro diseases;

• Sell chicken broth;

• Establish 50 young vulnerable girls in poultry breeding (feeding, cleaning, disease prevention, vaccination program, basic marketing) with the assistance of a C & S veterinarian and a local C & S trainer within the framework of Sanitation and basic education.

AGRICULTURE

• 110 vulnerable families, 109 women and 1 man (44 returnees and 66 vulnerable women) are mobilized, sensitized, identified and registered;

• 110 agricultural kits were distributed to the respective beneficiaries and were formatted for two weeks in the techniques of livestock farming and seed cultivation and the nutrition aspects of the crops supplied (food provided during the course);

• monitoring and evaluation.

Direct beneficiaries: 60 people (50 young Lokopo girls between the ages of 14 and 22, 110 Lokopo's vulnerable young people and women (44 returnees, 66 elderly / widowed / drowned women).
