The world that I would be

Theatrical show

"THE WORLD I WOULD BE. FATHER VITTORIONE PASTORI, THE EXAMPLE OF A FEARLESS HEART"

Retraces the solidarity path opened by father Vittorione Pastori, distinguished citizen of Varese, who was able to leave an important mark of solidarity towards the poor of Africa.

Through this musical-stage show the associations ItinerArte and Africa Mission - Co-operation and Development wanted to reenact the story of Father Vittorione, in the certainty that his life experience could be of great help today, in particular for youths. "THE WORLD I WOULD BE" is not a celebrative show, but wants to lead the spectator to a reflection on "value of man" and his "centrality",  and wants to be an instrument close to people's sensibility, especially to youths' one, in order to reflect on the concept that solidarity can be effective only if transformed in a performance of sharing.

The two protagonists of the story are Andrea, a man on holiday who is looking for some rest that could calm his dissatisfaction of living, and Lucia, who, with the telling of her choice and the value of her experiences, will show him the strength that comes from the commitment to the other. A voyage that, through Lucia's narration, supported by the show's images and soundtrack, revives the socio-cultural and personal context that have characterised Africa Mission – Co-operation and Development and Father Vittorione's life. "An engaging play, where acting, images, music and songs get altered and attract the public's attention, inviting them into an interior journey capable of moving and provoke" so commented Father Maurizio Noberini, Africa Mission's president, after seeing the opening night in Urbino and continued: " 'the world I would be' is a world that each of us could be, if only we had the courage to fully indulge in the desire of love we have in our heart".

The production is the offspring of the meeting between Africa Mission – Co-operation and Development and ItinerArte: the cultural association merges musicians with different career paths that have gained experience  performing by the side of some important artists (Romano Mussolini, Giorgio Gaslini, Paolo Conte, Steve Lacy, Azio Corghi, Hugo Aisemberg), in important musical festival ("Encuentros", "Cervantino", "Boleros de Oro") and toured all over the world (Austria, Slovenia, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, England, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, Ethiopia, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Cuba, Denmark, Argentina).
