ICCO Camp: in Napak a camp for the returnees!

ICCO Camp: in Napak a camp for the returnees!

Another event that sees our participation is ICCO Camp, the camp proposed within the socio-educational sector and more precisely the project "Children at risk".

The camp takes place from 11 to 15 December at the Longalom Primary School in the district of Napak, Karamoja.

It is a camp, a whole week, addressed to about 300 participants (200 children and 100 adults) who have experienced the reinsertion in their communities of origin through the help and psychological support of professionals. The week is marked by meetings where it is possible to share the results and challenges of the project and prepare the families to take care of the reintegrated children. Moments of sport, games, drama (shows) during the camp give to the children the opportunity to be protagonists and share personal experiences of resettlement, the importance of school education and discuss the good motivations to stay in Karamoja.

Through the meeting with specific officials and authorities of the district, through games, dialogues and awareness sessions, the participants are called to work on awareness and prevention of emigration and trafficking; the repatriated families are informed about the project, the support strategy and the network developed between the beneficiaries and the local authorities.
