Run for Water Run for Life 2023

Run for Water Run for Life 2023
Our RunForWaterRunForLife fundraising campaign to bring clean water to Karamoja has started again this year.

For 17 years now, the initiative has been running alonside the Venice Marathon, podistic event through the streets of Venice that will take place on October 24th 2022. Thanks to this collaboration, since 2006 we have raised funds for the drilling of 18 new wells and for the rehabilitation of 13 non-functioning ones.

In 2022 we celebrate our first 50 years and want to be once again, together with you, protagonists of an athletic and solidarity challenge by raising at least €10,000 for the rehabilitation of 5 wells.

How can you contribute?

- being one of our runners in Venice running on October 24th 2022. You can choose to run different distances.
For the 10km non-competitive section it isn't necessary any certification. By voluntarily registering, each partecipant declares to all intents and purposes his/her physical fitness. Athlets registered in the non-competitive section will not be eligible for the prize-giving ceremony and and not be included in the official rank of the run, but only run time will be registered.
For 10km, 21km and 42km competitive section it's necessary to be a meber of a Fidal affilliated club or to be in possession of a Runcard with medical certificate of specific agonistic fitness or belong to a Sports Promotion Body (Athletics section), again with certificate.

- making a donation. You can go directly on page "Rete del Dono" or one the page "Dona ora"-"Come sostenerci" and entering "Run for water, run for life 2022". You can also use traditional methods such as bank transfer make out to Cooperation and Development IBAN IT 04 I05156 12600 CC00 0004 2089 by BANCA DI PIACENZA - Central Headquarters of Via Mazzini, 20 - 29121 Piacenza or through postal c/c No. 14048292 made out to Cooperation and Development Ong Onlus with reason for payment "Run for water, run for lilfe 2022".
Every single gesture can contribute to bringing clean water!

But ... why are we looking for funds?
Today a well serves about 1,000 people, often up to 2,000; to double the availability of water, we would like each well to need only 500, bringing the daily per capita consumption to 20 liters. Our goal is therefore to raise at least €10,000 to rehabilitate 5 wells. Of course, it is essential to drill new ones but it is also necessary to repair existing ones. Perhaps not everyone knows that a well could stop working and a few interventions are enough to bring it back into operation.

You too can contribute to fighting thirst and help us spread the campaign. Run for water Run for life, run for water run for Life!
