Departing for Uganda the ambulance donated by Rotary

On Wednesday, August 2, a new container was set out from our headquarters, which will bring the ambulance donated to Karamoja in Uganda in December 2016 by the Rotary Club of Fiorenzuola and the Val D'Arda Public Assistance. This gift has begun a friendship between the two donors and Africa Mission - Cooperation and Development, consolidated now by the effective sending of the medium to Uganda. The ambulance will be used at the dispensary of Loputuk, one of the few operating centers in this area of the district that provides basic health services to a basin of 18,000 people and where we have been supporting the healthcare industry for years.

The "Loputuk Dipendary" project envisages the implementation, within three years, of rehabilitation of facilities and improvement of dispensary services. The ambulance equipment therefore allowed the first step of a path that will end in 2019 in Uganda, thanks to the installation of a solar pump on a water distribution plant.

The union of the Piacents' realities arises from the common desire to improve a difficult context such as that of Karamoja, which has about one million inhabitants and is the poorest region of Uganda.

At the start were Carlo Ruspantini, Director of the Movement, Cristina Vedovelli and Gabriele Toloni of Public Assistance, Rinaldo Onesti, new Rotary Club President and finally Stefano Sfulcini, former club president, who underlined Rotary's commitment to Humanitarian actions over the years and the opportunity to provide concrete help with this collaboration with Africa Mission.

Start now the third phase of the joint venture, after the gift of the ambulance and the departure of the container must bear the cost of transport, to cover the expense it takes 5000 euros for the shipping company within the next six months.

To support the campaign and to contribute to the development of Karamoja we accept donations!
